Transparency & Strategy

A deep dive into our organizational landscape, our growth over the years, and our strategic approach to solving homelessness.

Local Homelessness Statistics

Poverty does not discriminate. No one is immune to the possibility of becoming homeless. Prolonged unemployment, lack of emergency funds, or sudden severe illness can lead anyone to the streets. London is no exception. Below is the historical data showing the top areas with the highest number of homeless individuals, which formed the basis of our core mission.

London Borough / City Number of Homeless Recorded (Baseline)
Newham13,607
Haringey9,717

Post-Pandemic & Current Landscape (Update): While the baseline figures showed a severe crisis, the recent cost-of-living crisis across the UK has made the situation even more critical. This has validated our focus on providing not just immediate shelter, but sustainable solutions like vocational training and mental healthcare to break the cycle.

Our Evolution: SWOT Analysis

Strengths

Foundation (2021/22)

Armed with deep knowledge of local services, we established a strong community partnership base. Our vetted staff with personal experience were ready to serve without spending heavily on recruitment.

Present Status

We successfully achieved our Official UK Charity Registration (No: 1182648). Our "Helping Hands" project launched in 2023 has already started transitioning individuals from streets to mainstream society.

Weaknesses

Foundation (2021/22)

As a new non-profit, we faced limited funding streams and restricted marketing opportunities due to a tight budget.

Present Status

We have actively addressed this by expanding our digital presence, launching an engaging website, and establishing a dedicated volunteer marketing and fundraising team.

Opportunities

Foundation (2021/22)

We identified great opportunities to bring in donations, particularly through access to the local lottery program for potential long-term funding.

Present Status

Our opportunities have expanded globally. We have been selected for backing by the Aviva Community Fund and are actively building partnerships with local London councils and corporate sponsors.

Threats

Foundation (2021/22)

Changes in government non-profit policies and the constant threat of funding withdrawal due to economic downturns (relying solely on donations) were major concerns.

Present Status

While the national cost-of-living crisis continues to strain donor pockets, we are mitigating this threat by diversifying our income through JustGiving, Crowdfunder, and regular monthly subscriptions.
